QB Analysis

Air Raid sirens will be in heard in Tempe, as Halliday and his bid for 6,000 yards hits town against an Arizona secondary allowing 278 yards per game. Heck, Halliday could exceed that by halftime…Mariota was a mild disappointment, as his 24.8 Fantasy points were easily his season-low. No worries: California and their 123rd ranked defense will provide plenty of Friday night treats for the Heisman candidate…speaking of Heisman candidates, Prescott enters the week with six straight games of at least 37 Fantasy points. Kentucky’s improved defense won’t stand up well to the Bulldogs’ dual-threat….Barrett has ripped off four straight games with at least three touchdowns and at least 318 total yards….Hendrix has been an unholy terror in the MAC and with two games of at least 50 Fantasy points in his last three outings, may be the hottest QB in the nation….Doughty has been a picture of consistency over the last month….Cato has accounted for eight touchdowns the last two weeks, as he’s still producing despite the dominating stretch of RB Devon Johnson….Williams has put together 97.4 Fantasy points the last two weeks, as he has definitely rebounded from his — and UNC’s — poor start….Boykin has quietly emerged as a dangerous threat for a passing attack ranked ninth in the nation in yards per game….you’ll have to stay up way late to watch what Fajardo will do against Hawaii, but with 11 total touchdowns the last three weeks, his owners know he’s worth the bleary eyes.

RB Analysis

Abdullah owners didn’t panic during his slow start against Northwestern, as he recorded his third game of at least 38.8 Fantasy points in the last four weeks….Don’t be worried about the 20.9 Fantasy points Franklin delivered last week. Ohio looks like a great choice for the 30-plus he’s delivered much of the season…Bye weeks are the only thing stopping Gordon’s bum-rush of Big 10 defenses. He’s got four straight games of at least 30.1 points after totaling just 33 in his first two games….Johnson has become the piledriver to Rakeem Cato’s sledgehammer, as the duo have combined for at least 70 Fantasy points much of the last month…Ajayi has put up 68 total Fantasy points since Air Force held him to a season-low 15.1…..Cody Kessler threw seven TDs last week, but the Trojans still found time for Allen to crack 128 yards and add a touchdown. He’s must-start material in any format, but has more value in PPR leagues…Breida added a receiving element (2-36-1) to his usual rushing production last week, a scary proposition if that trend continues…Rawls’ numbers would be even more impressive if he hadn’t been suspended for three weeks…Connor only got 85 yards last week, but regained his nose for the goal line with two scores. Georgia Tech has struggled against the run recently, which makes Connor a good bet to return to his early season form…Taylor was a letdown with 13.75 Fantasy points following two straight 200-yard outings, but he did rush for 128 yards, which means his numbers go back up once he finds the end zone again.

WR Analysis

Higgins has been NC-17 freakish the last three weeks with 26-559-6 numbers. What makes you think Wyoming’s going to stop him? Yeah….Spruce has cooled off the last two weeks, yet there’s nothing that UCLA’s defense has done that indicates a third week is in the offing. Bank on the usual numbers making a return…White had another 100-yard afternoon, a feat he has achieved in each game this season. He and QB Clint Trickett are getting better and better as a combo…Like we said here last week, Texas A&M’s defense would be the tonic to get Cooper back on track. He and Blake Sims look like they’re hitting a stride….Lippett has been a top-five wideout all season long, and you know Michigan State will keep him involved in the offense…Sharpe’s only problem has been his inability to score, as UMass has found a running game that is stealing touchdowns from both him and QB Blake Frohnapfel….Mayle is the best choice of Washington State’s three receivers (River Cracraft, Isaiah Myers) ranked in the top 11 at the position….Strong gets Washington State’s secondary. Enough said….Frazier has emerged as the go-to man for red-hot Andrew Hendrix….Harris’ numbers have gotten better as young Texas QB Tyrone Swoopes has improved. He’s a smart play this week, as Swoopes has grown to trust him.

TE Analysis

Same song, new week: Johnson remains a heck of a loophole, as the moonlighting “TE” has become a must-start play for an undefeated Marshall squad…Georgia State’s offense has shown surprising punch for a first-year FBS program, and Ruiz has been a good reason why…Pierce is a solid target, and while yards aren’t his specialty, he’s a steady play in PPR formats….the opposite holds true for Williams, for why Minnesota doesn’t pass much, QB Mitch Leidner has made him the featured threat for the surprising Golden Gophers….Gibson is emerging as a factor in the explosive Nevada attack….The U spreads the ball around, and Walford is a top target in the Hurricanes’ diverse passing game…Walker is beginning to benefit from the torrid stretch of teammate Rashad Higgins, especially near the goal line.
