QB Analysis

The running aspect of Mariota’s game has yet to show up; he’ll be challenged by a Wyoming defense that has allowed just 25 points in their first two games. Then again, the Cowboys’ D will learn quickly that Oregon’s high-octane attack is light years ahead of Montana and Air Force, who they dominated…Hill has thrown 86 passes without an interception. Like Mariota, he’s chock full of weapons and hasn’t put his running skills on display. The Aggies hung 52 on Rice last season and could exceed that total…Halliday already has 921 yards passing in two games and should pad his totals at the expense of Portland State…You’ll have to stay up late to watch Armstrong do his dual magic at Fresno State. He’s averaged 35.3 points per game, mostly due to his improved decision making….Prescott is making his claim as a top-tier producer and is in line for another stat-padding outing against South Alabama…Ignore Kessler’s 6.7 performance at Stanford, which was the toughest defense he’ll see all year. The Trojans’ breakneck attack should be back on track at Boston College….Doughty managed just 20.8 points at Illinois; like Kessler, the high-scoring wind is behind him, which translates into good numbers at Middle Tennessee…Mauk gets a UCF defense that was strafed for 454 yards by Penn State. His running skills makes him a Must-Start as well.

RB Analysis

If Huskers coach Bo Pelini says Abdullah needs more touches, it’s also a clear sign to stick him into your lineup as Nebraska heads west to face Fresno State. Last week’s late heroics only solidifies his status in PPR leagues…Ajayi comes off a 47 Fantasy point outing against Colorado State. He’s also on pace for over 400 touches, which could translate into monster numbers…Conner has been a bust out star, averaging 7.3 yards per carry and has scored five TDs. The Panthers have a very weak schedule leading into ACC play, giving Connor ample time to perhaps make a Heisman bid…Jones followed up his 42 Fantasy point performer in the opener with 28.2 Fantasy points against Texas Tech, establishing him as a Must-Start…a still-retooling South Carolina defense must face Gurley, who mauled them for 32-130-2 in Georgia’s win over them last season…James has scored six times thus far, but he will have a hard time duplicating that against a rugged Penn State defense….The loss of QB Phillip Ely means the Rockets will put the offensive focus even more on Hunt, which isn’t a bad call considering Hunt has averaged 30.2 Fantasy points…Johnson’s impressive start is intriguing to Fantasy owners, who can also start him at TE in most leagues…Rawls is now the clear-cut starter at Central Michigan, all but destroying any beliefs of a running back-by-committee scenario.

WR Analysis

Cooper has set career-bests in his first two games. About the only negative is that he has just one touchdown, but is a PPR stud….Cooper should be a strong bounce back option after letting down Fantasy owners last week…Expect Marquez (five TDs) to be targeted frequently in what should be a shootout against Arkansas…..Funchess’ production was one of the few bright spots in Michigan’s fiasco at Notre Dame. Pity Miami (Ohio), which will feel his wrath…..Cannon has been the nation’s best freshman wideout thus far and will continue his impressive start even when Antwan Goodley and Levi Norwood return to the quick-strike Baylor offense….Hardy (19-220-2) is the kind of playmaker that can make Virginia Tech’s secondary pay dearly all afternoon. The Hokies can’t afford a letdown from last week’s win at Ohio State considering the Pirates rack up 517 yards per game…Shepard is the wideout of choice for emerging Fantasy star Trevor Knight and should be good for a big play or two against Tennessee…..Spruce has quickly answered the question as to who replaces Paul Richardson in the Colorado passing game….Like Spruce, White has quickly established himself as the featured wideout for his respective school.

TE Analysis

Johnson, who is now the lead back for the Thundering Herd, is a must-start if your league allows him to be TE-eligible…..Georgia State has a batch of interesting Fantasy options, including Ruiz, who is one of the most-targeted Panthers receivers….Hooper is emerging as one of Kevin Hogan’s key targets….Williams will be a good play, especially if TCU focuses too much on Minnesota’s run game….Cartwright has just one catch thus far, a number that will change in what should be a rebound game for him against Cal-Davis.
