QBs
Baylor’s Bryce Petty (back) has two small cracked bones in his back, but he expects to play against Northwestern State. The good news is that Petty’s injury sounds more serious than it is. Two, he likely will hand the reins over to the offense early in the game against an FCS foe. Some Fantasy leagues won’t even have his game available for selection playing against a lower-division team. … Other high-end Fantasy QBs with games against FCS opponents includes Florida State’s Jameis Winston, California’s Jared Goff, Texas A&M’s Kenny Hill, Bowling Green QB Matt Johnson, Clemson’s Cole Stoudt. Also, Texas QB Davis Ash (concussion) has been ruled OUT due to concussion-like symptoms, so Tyrone Swoopes, well…he swoops in to start. … Watch out for Western Kentucky’s Brandon Doughty, too. He led all Week 1 quarterbacks with 569 passing yards and six touchdown strikes. He and the Hilltoppers travel to Champaign to meet QB Wes Lunt and Illinois in what could shape up as a track meet.

RBs
Good news for Fantasy owners of Alabama’s T.J. Yeldon. He opened with 126 yards and two scores against West Virginia, and now gets a Florida Atlantic defense which yielded 232 yards to Nebraska’s Ameer Abdullah last weekend. … New Mexico’s defense saw UTEP’s Aaron Jones gobble up 237 yards and three scores, now face Arizona State’s D.J. Foster. Ouch. … Fantasy owners have to be disappointed that Indiana’s Tevin Coleman and the Hoosiers already face a bye. He rolled up 247 rushing yards and two scores against Indiana State. Daily Fantasy owners might not have even gotten a chance to use him then, either, playing against an FCS foe. … Speaking of FCS foes, Nebraska’s Abdullah could be unavailable in some leagues with McNeese State on the schedule. He went for 232 rushing yards and a touchdown. … After an exciting opener, Georgia’s Todd Gurley and his Bulldogs have a bye week. …. Western Michigan’s Jarvion Franklin burst onto the Fantasy scene with 163 rushing yards and three scores at Purdue, but he also is on a bye. … More top-tier Fantasy backs with FCS foes include Wisconsin stud Melvin Gordon, Rutgers’ Paul James and Louisville’s Dominique Brown.
WRs
Alabama will get a chance to pound on FAU this weekend, and WR Amari Cooper has the chance to roll up some impressive Fantasy totals. … Arizona State’s offense will be prolific against a New Mexico team which was shredded by UTEP. That’s great news for Jaelen Strong, who is one of the best receivers in the nation. … As mentioned, the Western Kentucky-Illinois game could be a shootout. WKU’s Taywan Taylor opened with 12 grabs for 185 yards and a touchdown in a high-scoring affair against Bowling Green. With Illinois looking lackluster against Youngstown State last week, an FCS foe, Western could pile up some more big numbers this weekend. … Utah’s Dres Anderson is a bit of a forgotten man, but he made his presence felt with four catches and 111 yards last week. He should find the end zone for the first time this season against a Fresno State pass defense which was blasted last weekend at USC. … Some Fantasy owners will have to make it without Florida State’s Rashad Greene this week, as he and the Seminoles face The Citadel, an FCS opponent. Also facing FCS foes will be LSU’s Travin Dural, Texas A&M’s Malcome Kennedy and Nebraska’s Jordan Westerkamp.
TEs
Generally, tight end isn’t a hugely important position for Fantasy owners, but there are a couple of studs out there. Keep an eye on Georgia State’s Joel Ruiz, who was off pretty much every Fantasy roster last week. He opened with seven grabs for 111 yards and a pair of scores against Abilene Christian, so it will be interesting to see how he fares against New Mexico State. Still, the Aggies are an FBS team, technically, but their defensive effort will be similar to that of ACU. Ruiz could shine. … Minnesota’s Maxx Williams gets a visit from Middle Tennessee, and that could be a very entertaining and high-scoring game. … Florida Atlantic’s Alex DeLeon has the build of a Tony Gonzalez, and a certain NFL future. Fantasy owners might be scared off by a trip to Tuscaloosa, but once the Owls get into C-USA play, DeLeon could be a Fantasy moneymaker. … Marshall’s Eric Frohnapfel won’t make anyone in Huntington forget Gator Hoskins anytime soon, but he did open with two scores to open Fantasy eyes in the future. Unfortunately, he and the Herd face URI, an FCS school. Keep him on your radar, though, as QB Rakeem Cato loves to employ the tight end.
