QB Analysis

Two things to know why Halliday is atop the list this week: he’s on pace for 5,741 passing yards and 48 touchdown passes. Utah weathered a brutal rainstorm at Michigan last week and may wish they were back in Ann Arbor following the storm of Washington State’s air attack….Prescott is averaging 38.3 Fantasy points per game, as his performance at LSU not only put him on the Heisman radar, it also made him an elite Fantasy starter…..Petty’s back is a week more healthy, plus he gets a healthy Antwan Goodley for Baylor’s Big 12 opener against Iowa State. Petty should revert back to the first round pick he was in many leagues…Don’t let Hill’s season-low 24.95 Fantasy points dampen your faith in him. Texas A&M didn’t play him in the second half of their rout of SMU, so look for his numbers to hit the mid-to-high 30s Fantasywise in what should be shootout against Arkansas….A 51.1 Fantasy point outing at Rice is a clear sign that Heinicke, who had been an early season disappointment, is out of his funk….Feel confident in putting Kessler into the lineup, as Southern Cal finally returns home, where Kessler put up 44.1 Fantasy points in his only other game at the Coliseum….Brown is becoming a steady starter whose dual threat skills are in line for a field day against a porous Indiana defense……Golson is another dual threat field general who’s now a must-play as his grasp of the Notre Dame offense becomes more potent with each game….Liufau has thrown at least two touchdowns in each of his four starts and gets top 10 billing since Colorado partakes against a California defense that was scorched for 524 passing yards in their squandered 49-45 loss against Arizona….Murphy isn’t much of a passer, but he’s worth a play because of his game-altering running skills, which will welcome Colorado State this week.

RB Analysis

Coming off a “season-low” 22.6 Fantasy points, Connor is a strong bet to surpass that total as Pittsburgh faces an Akron run defense ranked 88th in the nation….Ajayi is still a must-start despite the fact Air Force’s sixth-ranked run D will be a challenge for Boise State. His value will be more enhanced in PPR leagues….If Abdullah can light up a solid Miami (Fla.) defense for 232 yards and three TDs from scrimmage, just think what he’ll do to an Illinois unit that was pushed to the limit at home against Texas State….Gordon’s slump was shattered by his record-setting performance last week…You had to know Gurley wouldn’t see too many touches in Georgia’s pasting of Troy, something that will change now that the ‘Dawgs face Tennessee….With QB Taylor Kelly sidelined, Foster becomes a bigger factor in the Arizona State offense. The nation’s third-leading rusher could have a Heisman attention-grabbing outing against what has been a vastly overrated UCLA defense on Thursday night….Keep an eye on Hunt, who is day-to-day with a right ankle injury. If he goes, expect the same quality production he’s delivered thus far…..Coleman has rushed for at least 132 yards in each of his three games and is becoming a factor with Indiana’s passing game….Brieda has thrived under the radar. Now that you know he averages 23.3 Fantasy points an outing, count on the savvy owners who found him to keep watching him rattle off must-start numbers…Langford put up impressive numbers while playing in just the first half of Michigan State’s rout last week. The same will happen this week with South Florida coming to town.

WR Analysis

Colorado’s offensive revival begins with Spruce, who is one of only two wideouts (Alabama’s Amari Cooper) with over 100 Fantasy points after the first four weeks. Cal’s secondary is already under Air Raid Alert with the Buffs coming to town….Myers has at least six catches in each of his first four games, along the 28-yard effort in last week’s loss to Oregon was a wet blanket to his owners. He’ll rebound at Utah….Dural hauled in 6-128 in the loss to Mississippi State. His numbers should be at or above those against New Mexico State…Cannon’s deep strike ability still makes him Fantasy worthy despite the return of preseason All-America Antwan Goodley….Marquez is much better than the 4.4 Fantasy points he produced in his last game (vs. Arkansas). In what should be a slugfest against Oklahoma State, expect Bradley to be a big part of it….Miller didn’t score last week, but did hit the 100-yard barrier for the second time…Sasser is now the go-to option for Missouri QB Maty Mauk and is coming off a 12-153 outing….Diggs is a great must-start as Maryland will light up Indiana’s secondary….Michigan State, as expected, reverted to its run game, but Lippett remains money for his owners…Vinson is getting the bulk of the carries for UAB, but is listed at WR in most leagues. Take advantage of that friendly loophole and plug him into your lineup.

TE Analysis

Smith is one of only a handful of TEs who is regarded as his team’s go-to threat….Serigne has 13 catches in his last two games, as Wake Forest seems to have made him their top target…Podrabsky hauled in eight catches last week and pulled in his first score of the season….Sinz is a good rebound choice following a week in which he had just one reception…Walford has scored in three of Miami (Fla.) first four games, already exceeding his 2013 total….Scheu is the mark of consistency, having caught three passes in each game…O’Leary has reestablished himself as a threat and should provide a safety blanket for the returning Jameis Winston when Florida State takes on North Carolina State.
