New Head Coaches For 2017:
1. Baylor: New Coach: Matt Rhule Former Coach: Jim
Grobe
Rhule, is the former head coach at Temple the past four seasons.
During that span, he led the Owls to a 28-23 overall record in
Philadelphia including an AAC Championship title win over Navy last
season. Rhule led the Owls to back to back 10 win seasons in 2015
and 2016 which included Temple’s first win over Penn State in 41
years (27-10 win at home in 2015).
Rhule is a blue collar head coach that preaches physicality on both the offensive and defensive lines. That mentality could be a roadblock for the team in the wide open Big 12. The conference as a whole has not been known as having the physicality to play with some of the others and that transition could prove to be the Achilles heel for the team.
